Java Island is said to be the historical center of civilization that has existed since the days of the kingdom, one of which is the Majapahit Kingdom.


With this much history it automatically becomes a historical place that is visited by many tourists both domestically and abroad. Can also be seen from the map of Java that the island is divided into 4 provinces.

Among them are West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta (DIY), and East Java Province. The division is divided based on administrative data, where each province oversees different districts and cities between one province to another province.

Javanese tribe

The Javanese are the largest ethnic group in Indonesia, originating from Central Java, East Java, and D.I Yogyakarta. Of the population in Indonesia there are estimated to be around 45% Javanese.

There are branches of the Javanese tribe, such as the Tengger tribe, the Samin people, the Osing tribe and many others. In general, Javanese use Javanese language to communicate between one person and another.

Sundanese tribe

The Sundanese are an ethnic group that has origins in the western part of Java. The term that can be used for this tribe is Tatar Pasundan which covers the administrative areas of the provinces of West Java, Lampung, Jakarta, and Banten.

The Sundanese are the largest ethnic group in Indonesia after the Javanese. Around 15.2% of Indonesia's population is Sundanese. Sundanese use Sundanese language to communicate.

There are several types of speech that you can use to communicate with this tribe. Here are 6 different ways to speak in Sundanese language :

1. Western style (Sundanese Banten), the communication language used in the Banten and Lampung regions.
2. North Style is the language of communication used in the northern Sunda region including the city of Bogor and several Pantura areas.
3. Southern Style (Priangan) is a communication language used in the city of Bandung and surrounding areas.
4. Middle East Style is the language of communication used in the districts of Majalengka and Indramayu
5. Northeastern Style (Cirebon Sundanese Language) is a communication language used in areas around Cirebon and Kuningan, also in several sub-districts in Brebes and Tegal regencies, Central Java.
6. Southeastern Style is the language of communication used in the area around Ciamis, also in several districts in the districts of Cilacap and Banyumas, Central Java.

Betawi tribe

Betawi tribe is a tribe on the island of Java whose inhabitants mostly reside in the area of the capital city of Jakarta. This tribe use Betawi language to communicate.

The birth of this Betawi tribe is from a combination of various other ethnic groups who had already lived in Jakarta, such as Malays, Sundanese, Javanese, Arabs, Bugis, Balinese, Makassarese and Chinese.

Baduy tribe

Baduy tribe which is a native of Banten. The Baduy population is only 5000-8000 people. They are located at the foot of Kendeng Mountain, Kanekes village, Leuwidamar District, Lebak, Rangkasbitung, Banten. Baduy use Sundanese Banten language (Western style) to communicate

Madura tribe

Madura tribe is one of the tribes on the island of Java originating from the island of Madura, East Java and the surrounding islands.This tribe use Madura language to communicate.
